ADVERSITY: MY MOTIVATION
A few years ago, my life took an unexpected turn when I was laid off from a multinational where I had worked for 19 years. That dismissal was the result of a personnel restructuring caused by the pandemic that had hit the world. At first, it was a hard blow for me. I felt uncertainty and worry about my future work, but I soon understood that this situation represented an opportunity for improvement and growth.
I’ve always been passionate about sales, but I’d never fully dedicated myself to it, so I decided to reinvent myself and made the decision to train to adapt to the changing job market. I immersed myself in courses, workshops and conferences, seeking to acquire new skills and knowledge. It was a challenging process, but little by little I began to glimpse new opportunities and job prospects that I hadn’t considered before. Adversity became a motivation to do my best and explore new horizons.
As I went through my process of reinventing myself, I realized that this dismissal was, in fact, the favor of my life. It allowed me to rethink my priorities and gave me the opportunity to pursue my dreams of living in the place I had always wanted. My first project as a Closer Sales Project was with the University of Alicante, a 100% remote project, so I decided to take a leap of faith and move to that place, in search of a fuller and more satisfying life.
Today, looking back, I can say that every step I have taken in this process of overcoming has been worth it. I fulfilled my dreams and fully enjoy life in the place I always wanted to be. I learned to value every opportunity that comes my way and not to be afraid of change. The experience of reinventing and adapting has taught me the importance of resilience, determination, and self-confidence.
